Stefan James Kostraby 19yo died of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on 20.01.12 at Royal Melbourne Hospital. As his mothers new partner, I am very sad that Stefan did not have his unique needs met throughout his cancer journey. I wish that I had known Stefan, to be able to give him and his mother the support that they so very much needed. Stefan asked his mother Wendy to continue to advocate not only on his behalf but for all young people who have to face the cancer journey. He asked that medical facilities, environments be made more friendlier and inviting. Stefans cancer journey was 9mths from diagnosis to death, with only 3mths remission in that time but his memory and legacy will last forever...
